After Google seemed to begin showing results first that seemed favored or paid for to show up first, I researched possible alternatives but decided it wasn't necessary-and it was a pain in the ass anyway.
However, recently I've noticed the trend of having certain search results omitted altogether due to what I now understand as straight up censorship on Google of what they deem as 'fake news'.
For someone like myself doing amateur research Google used to provide any and all results I could use as leads. It's useless now except for the most mundane subject matter.
