All my regular foods and juices are now SUGARY and disgusting and it's making me sick. I can only buy one brand of juice now. The HFCS in foods made me feel as if my food was being processed more quickly and sugar is a huge burden. The amount of sugar they are putting in these foods with this switch is too much. You can't even taste the fruit.
Why Swapping High Fructose Corn Syrup for Sugar Won’t Make You Healthier
If only I had realized when I was younger that flouride isn't just to dumb us down but so that marketers can have us consume lots of sugar since birth. It's outrageous how much sugar is in kids foods.
Now there's a logical explaition as to why it's so important to change up from High Fructose Corn Syrup to sugar. It may seem healthy but in the big picture it is not.
Coming from a generation in the '70s where our parents thought Capt Crunch was ok as breakfast and shitty Hana-Barbara cartoons were a babysitter in the 90s we became focused on positive changes like no TV sets in the home, health food and environmentally sustainable products. That was short lived for some reason and I notice that a lot of the health and environmental movements declined with 9/11 and the war. (Sorry Greta, we did try. Someday you will experience how bad the bad guys are, probably when you no longer are useful to their agendas. Poster child today-enemy tomorrow. Just you wait and see. You're whole generation is gonna get a wake up call when you realize how you've been used by the system.)
I went into Whole Foods a year ago or so and asked why there wasnt any tofu ice cream. The grocery guy looked at me as if I was a turd in the punch bowl (which I always am anyway) and got defensive and claimed that it wasn't popular anymore and they run with trend etc.
Decades ago when we had GENUINE health food stores there was no sugar in the entire place and certain products were healthy food staples like Amazaki etc. There were no trends just what health nuts depended on. Things weren't outrageously priced either. If tofu ice cream is a healthy alternative product then it should be available today as it is tomorrow.
I've been eating HFCS all my life. I know it's not ultra healthy but the healthy alternatives are honey, maple syrup or fruit based sweeteners those products no longer exist. In the 90s you could easily pick up fruit juice sweetened products like yogurt etc now it's impossible. I tried stevia decades ago and it's just as weird now as it was back then. There are some things I haven't tried like agave.
If people tried we could find something genuinely healthy. Ever since I've been diagnosed with ulcers and I'm aging I now look at food differently. There's too many stores, there's too much waste and there's too much corruption of food. The things we do to wheat is obscene and if people don't buy it we throw it away. My stomach now rejects a lot of what I used to eat and my teeth (which were never fixed properly by a dental school just made worse) show what happens when you eat too much sugar. Maybe some of us are genetically pre disposed to crave sugar once it's introduced. I know some people who never seem to eat it, they don't crave it and I envy them. They usually have nice teeth as well. Perhaps some of us maybe most of us should be sticking to honey and maple syrup like our ancestors did. Sugar is something that's been introduced only recently into human society in our long history.
I'm realizing that sugar is one of the most damaging substances that we are raised with as normalized and flouride is the cover up for it. I'm seeing that foods in the form they are sold is not sustainable. They want us to eat bugs to save the environment yet big companies keep polluting massively. Humans need to stop flying. It's one of the worst polluters and it's ridiculously unsafe. You can possibly walk away from a car accident, you can't parachute out of a commercial airliner.
My body seems much happier with HFCS maybe because I've been consuming it all my life. Perhaps it is time to get it out of my diet but replacing it with sugar seems like a step backwards. I would like to see a study done on any differences in dental health between sugar and HFCS also.
Foods are becoming unhealthier since COVID and whatever idiots caused gas to be so high and screwed up shipping overseas to make money.
I notice companies are resorting to sneaky ways of cutting costs like claiming something is healthier when they change the formula (that's ALWAYS when you see a new redesigned label or box design, except for Aunt Jemima which was changed for political reasons not the food itself) when in fact they've taken out good things from the product. An example is Hungry Jack complete pancake mix. One of the only lower level cost mixes that had good things in it like barley and other grains and it had actual vitamin percentages on the box. It tasted good and was easy to make.
Then they changed the box and the logo....
Sure enough, some of the vitamins were gone and others reduced to miniscule amounts. It tastes like cardboard. Yet the change was marketed as 'healthier' because they claim it is made with some sort of 'natural' ingredients now. Now I pay more for a higher end product that's probably healthier than Pearl Milling Company or Hungry Jack but doesn't taste as good.
Another sneaky maneuver lately has been the shrinking cereal box. I was shocked by this but most people don't seem to care. That's because women in my grandmother's day would have rioted if they pulled this crap (notice how the WW2 generation all died off before they started this nonsense?). Someone told me it's called 'shrinkflation'. Cute but still unacceptable. The size of the cereal boxes is ridiculous.
Dont even feed into this bs. Your local drugstore like CVS and Walgreens have sales on these boxes for like $2 each. BJs wholesale club has two huge boxes glued together that sells for $8 and recently with coupon, $3! Get every store flyer or ad you can most can be gotten online and seek out deals. If you're a person who doesn't care about prices then fine but food quality should be important to everyone.
Generic foods used to be ok but now it depends. Each market has its own good and bad about it.
We are very fortunate to be in an area with so much food and people being generous with food. We are also very lucky to be born in a country where food is safe for the most part. Our food supply is also heavily protected by DHS which is why they trucker protests a few years ago were Canadian not American truckers because all that 70s shit like convoys and such are all illegal now.
When COVID got really crazy I noticed that Americans fared far better than other nations. That entire situation was done badly however because there should have been an international emergency where rationing was mandated for stores as well as regulating shipping. That was wrong and people suffered due to others greed. Most people don't even understand that, which is sad.
Also try to remember that the people working in these stores and manufacturing the food products are just trying to live and they may actually take pride in their work or their product. Alot of people I've met that are higher up in grocery really are into food and into products. You can stand and discuss products with them and get good information. This is the difference between the craftsman and the 'corporate body' as I call them, just bodies going through the motions of a job. People who see value in their work differ from people who show up and it's just a job.
I think we can do better. We need to stop over producing and we need to stop making empty calories and garbage for people to eat. In the future I hope sugar is no longer for human consumption because it is addictive. In my 20s when the health food and environment movement was becoming normalized and part of our daily lives I quit sugar for a time and even though I felt much better I returned to it.
(To be fair about dental health there is a gene that creates an enzyme in people's mouths that over a lifetime destroy teeth regardless of what that person eats. If you have this your teeth will rot faster anyway so that is to be considered.)
Mid level to low level food is becoming unhealthy. Genetically or bio engineered food is a very bad idea and tastes like virtual food. It doesn't register in my brain at all. It's as empty as CGI in a movie where my brain is going "all I see is 1110001110011001. There's nothing ACTUALLY there".
Don't be angry or disappointed. There might be a depopulation agenda out there and with good reason. Even the toothpaste is now less effective since COVID. Just be aware and smarter.
Unfortunately it seems time to separate the wheat from the chaff. Again.
